The Lawrenceville Housing Authority (LHA) provides decent, safe, and sanitary housing to the low-income citizens of Lawrenceville and the surrounding areas
Since its establishment, LHA has developed 9 housing sites with a total of 212 public housing units. LHA knows that quality places to live have incredibly positive effects on a family's health, on a student's education, and a neighborhood's overall attractiveness and viability.
This property on New and Old Memorial is occupied by family living, but the current parking situation is inadequate. As part of the plans to renovate the existing parking and create new parking pads, LHA plans to provide residents with updated landscaping, a pavilion and shared patios to better enjoy the outdoors. I designed the plans utilizing native plants and maximizing a healthy tree canopy to shade the outdoor areas, lower utility bills, and support wildlife. The plantings are naturalized, mimic the calming benefits of nature, create a unique sense of place for residents, and are intended to reduce the intensive mowing needs on the property.
