Native Azalea Collection

The azalea is often called the Kind of Shrubs

I designed the azalea collection in partnership with The Azalea Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society. Georgia boasts 13 species native to the state with all 13 species having been planted on the Westside Trail while the Eastside Trail is planted with some of the best cultivars for Georgia. Their colorful blooms and fragrance delight trail users from early spring through summer.

My roles involved:

  • Project planning and coordination

  • Landscape design and drafting

  • Budgeting

  • Volunteer coordination

  • Writing a landscape management plan

  • ArcGIS data entry

*All work was completed while employed at Trees Atlanta, 2019
