The Last Child in the Woods
Nature-based education was the focus of my senior design project while an undergraduate landscape architecture student at The University of Georgia. Alps Elementary School based in Athens, Georgia has an objective to use the property to facilitate nature-based education programs offered at the school. The below gallery demonstrates how every part of the site can be harnessed to turn school grounds into a learning landscape with nature-based playscapes, rain gardens, green roofs, artwork, and creative green infrastructure.
